November is… Wow… Nearly Everything Awareness Month?
Welcome to November! We’ve flown through breast cancer awareness month with grace and aplomb – many awesome women stepped up for their first mammograms. Many thoughtful men and women encouraged their loved ones to get their mammograms. Another sucessful October!
We were able to talk about breast health in general and things we can each do to help in the fight against breast cancer. As far as we are concerned there is no time like the present – no matter what month – to help people toward their best possible health.
This new month offers new opportunities for more general health conversations. It’s jam-packed with things to be aware of, and we’d like to take a moment and note them… at least the health-related ones we know about!
In case you haven’t noticed some scruffier-than-usual looking men on the streets this month, it’s Movember, which is observed in honor of men’s health. The five o’clock shadow never looked so good as when done for a great cause!
Other issues worth discussing this month include (are you ready?): Alzheimer’s, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Lung Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Prematurity, Pulmonary Hypertension and Stomach Cancer. Whew! There are a lot of body parts to take care of – and those are just November’s focus!
So today is just the warm-up. We’ll be addressing some of these more specifically in the next few weeks. We want you to be healthy – we want you to take action to ensure your best possible health. And it starts with a conversation.
PS Don’t think we didn’t notice that this Friday is International Day of Radiology. We’ll be sure to hit that one too :).
