Hereditary Cancer Genetic Testing
Diagnostic Imaging Centers is excited to announce a partnership with HALO Precision Diagnostics.
Up to 25% of the general population meets clinical criteria for hereditary cancer gene testing. However, less than 10% of those eligible patients have received testing.
Now available at our Overland Park clinic, HALO Precision Diagnostics will be offering genetic testing to high-risk patients.
Who should consider hereditary cancer genetic testing?
PERSONAL HISTORY
If you have any of the following cancers, you should think about speaking with your healthcare provider about the HALO Genetic Health PathWay:
- Breast cancer at any age
- Ovarian cancer at any age
- Metastatic prostate cancer at any age
- Pancreatic cancer at any age
- Endometrial or colorectal cancer under 50
FAMILY HISTORY
If anyone in your family meets the following criteria, you should consider hereditary cancer genetic testing:
- Breast cancer at 50 or younger
- Ovarian cancer at any age
- Male breast cancer at any age
- Two breast cancers in one relative at any age
- Three or more breast cancers in relatives on the same side of the family at any age
- Metastatic prostate or pancreatic cancer in a first degree relative
- Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry with a relative with one breast, ovarian or pancreatic cancer at any age
- Endometrial or colorectal cancer under 50
- A gene mutation found in a family member
