Why We Do What We Do
October already? Breast Cancer Awareness Month is upon us! As radiologists who specialize in mammography, women’s health… and this blog, we thought we’d kick-off the month with a quick list of why we do what we do:
-
We screen women for breast cancer. Why? Because early detection saves lives!
-
We educate women about breast health. Why? Because prevention saves lives!
-
We educate women about mammography. Why? Because we don’t want you to worry unnecessarily.
-
We love our patients – and our readers. Why? Because we’re women too. We’re all in the fight against breast cancer, where our greatest risks are simply being women and getting older (not that we age or anything…)
For the next few weeks, we’ll be talking more about cancer than usual (sometimes we get a little distracted by tangentially interesting stuff). We’ll tell you about webinars that are chock full o’information and special days/events to honor the health of women everywhere. We love talking with you, and that’s just one more reason why we do what we do.
