Welcome Dr. Daniel Sova
Diagnostic Imaging Centers is proud to welcome our newest radiologist, Dr. Daniel Sova. Dr. Sova is a specialist in musculoskeletal imaging with expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound and musculoskeletal intervention.
A lifelong midwesterner, Dr. Sova is originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He grew up playing golf, continuing to play into college, where he helped create the golf nonprofit, The Boys of Summer Cup. He is also a musician: from piano and guitar he finally landed on the banjo (Scruggs style for you bluegrass fans) and even belonged to a band in college. We’re curious to see if he’ll join the music scene in Kansas City next (we’ve already introduced him to our in-house rocker, Chris Bowers, but can’t wait to see him play with Joe Stegeman at Christmastime).
Aside from enjoying music and golf, Dr. Sova enjoys learning in many other ways, which lead him from biomedical engineering to medical school, finally arriving at radiology. Why radiology? At first… “I didn’t know what I was getting into,” he admits. But once he arrived at this specialty he enjoyed it so much he stuck with it, and in no small way:
Dr. Sova received his medical degree at the University of Nebraska in 2010 (where he was VP of his medical school class). His spent his residency at Indiana University’s well-respected radiology program. After that, he took it up another notch with a year of fellowship training in musculoskeletal imaging at the University of Michigan here he developed expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound and therapeutic image-guided procedures. He is also board-certified by the American Board of Radiology.
He is excited to join the team at Diagnostic Imaging Centers and has already been spotted in public wearing a Royals baseball cap. Welcome to DIC and KC, Dr. Sova!
